Looking Back At The Year 2016
In October 2016, we entered our second year as Fieldspace Property Group. We have worked hard to entrench our new name in the industry and I feel we’ve built a number of strong relationships with our tenants as well as various brokers. Despite several challenges, we’ve made significant progress in a short time.
A few successes that I’m particularly proud of include our Open Office Experience, held in April 2016, where we showcased of one of our larger properties in Midrand’s Riverview Office Park. Brokers were invited to peruse the building and meet our team and the event proved a success. We are undertaking several projects that will reduce our carbon footprint including introducing solar energy to several of our buildings and switching to energy saving light bulbs.
Not only have we focused on our core business of investing in property, but we have also realised our responsibility to the local communities in which our properties are based and have taken several steps to assist where we are able. I am particularly proud of our sponsorship of Shandon Way Park, a stone’s throw from our retail centre Parkmore Square. The park adopted jungle gyms and a vegetable garden and we have assisted with various aspects of the upgrade. Additionally, in honour of Mandela Day in July 2016, we teamed up with House of Harvest Ministries to provide sandwiches to under-privileged members of the Midrand community.
Although 2016 was a challenging year for South Africa, politically and economically, we feel extremely positive about the year ahead and I am looking forward to sharing with you more info on several very exciting new offerings we are working on.
